Unexpected Restart [ Edited ]

OK, I've been playing this game for quite some while. I've accumulated lots of Simcash several lama zoom tokens. I've played all the occupation stories but one, some multiple times.  Now, this morning I'm greeted with "Pick your first Sim" Yep, back to the beginning. WTF? Is this deliberate or some strange bug. I guess there isn't  fix so I'll probably just delete the game. but I'm beyond disappointed right now. I've been playing on an iPad if that mmakes any difference.

@TomB-202 That's definitely not right Were you able to connect your game to EA and/or SM accounts before this happened? If yes, you might be able to retrieve your game. You can ask for EA help thru in-game help in settings. Take note of your player ID found at the upper right side of the screen when you open the game. Hope you get your game back.

I went ahead and accepted the restart. It will take a while to get back to level 46

but eventually I may. If this happens again though I'm done.
