@amard89 Hey! I know I said I was bowing out but maybe crinrict is busy. I noticed you were looking in the programs folder for the cache files but for those files you would look in your C drive Documents \ Electronic Arts \ The Sims 4
Before reinstalling, I would again advise that you follow instructions for cleaning your cache folders using crinrict's guide.

Hello again @amard89 ! Yes, I see in your photo that folder is - This PC / Acer C: / Program Files (x86) / Origin Games / The Sims 4
You need to look in the folder - This PC / Acer C: / Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4
This is another folder labeled "The Sims 4" and the localthumbcache.package file is in this "The Sims 4" folder.
Edit: I had to take out the Parentheses around C: because this thing thought they were smileys lol

@amard89 Nice! I'm so glad you were able to fix it

@amard89 One more thing ... if you meant deleting the localthumbcache.package file fixed the issue, would you please click "accept as solution" on @jpkarlsen 's initial reply to your post? This will help other players know what to do if they have the same issue. Maybe give them XP while you're at it? Share the love!

Hey sure will do
I have moved the mods folder to my desktop does it have to stay there

@amard89 Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's safe to move the mods folder back in. I was thinking that the game would generate a new mods folder at some point but if you see it's not there, you can move it back now. Since you said you don't actually have any mods anyway, it really shouldn't impact your game either way.
