Sims 4

I’m recently new to the sims 4 game so this might be a dumb question. Just have one problem. I’d like to fix up the worlds and add new sims to them. I tried to do that and it worked for a little while but then when get off the game and I go back onto it it’s all gone. Very frustrating when I re do it all and then all the work is gone. Does anyone know how to be able to save it so it will stay like that.. thank you in advance
