Purchased rooms disappeared after buying Ivy Cottage

I purchased the Ivy Cottage room template and placed it on my lot. 

Then all the previous rooms I had purchased for that lot were gone. I wanted to add on to the cottage and build a guest house, but I have to buy rooms all over again! 

I don’t know why I couldn’t keep the rooms I already purchased. If I had known all my prior rooms would be taken away I wouldn’t have bought the house template. 

Has anyone else had this problem? When I went to the tech help they couldn’t do anything about it.

@lgy3g9eiwful No, it costs the same for everyone.
Templates are beneficial to newer players who haven't unlocked everything because they add rooms, land expansions, extra floors, etc.

They are also good for players who are not good at buiding or not interested in spending time designing a new home.

@lgy3g9eiwful How many rooms in total did you own on that home lot before you purchased the cottage?

I think I had 11, but I didn’t count them before I built the cottage.

@lgy3g9eiwful The Ivy cottage consists of 11 rooms. If you had 11 rooms, purchasing the cottage will not add to the previously 11 owned rooms as all the rooms will be in use.
In the case of players who own more than 11 rooms, the cottage will still use 11 rooms and the rest of the rooms will be placed in inventory.
