You do have to earn your membership by posting. 

but as a new member you get to play all the games and post on any discussions you are interested in its all about Sims 4/3 

They love to talk about the upcoming Dogs and Cats. Never ending chat threads about the Toddlers, You do get to know people can private message them and just enjoy being part of the Sims 4 Family of players. So maybe you would like to try there.
