@LattiePattie, in addition to the fantastic list that @DonroaAkashu provided for you, I'm going to tag @SheriGR because she has played with the Lice Cold freezers extensively and is a big fan of them so she might be able to help you with that problem! 
@LattiePattie Well, I just went through about 20+ hours of having the retail business open of one of my Sim families. In this shop I have 2 Lice Cold Freezers plus retail items on display for purchase, and one employee. In preparation to test the freezers and customers purchasing from them or not:
- I had previous items in the freezers. A variety ranging from produce to honey and prepared goods.
- For some weird reason, not the way they previously looked, all of the prepared food in the Lice Cold Freezers had this message when hovered over. "This item cannot be sold or deleted."
- This message was not on the honey or harvestables/produce in the freezers.
- I also had my sim make several items fresh on the lot. These were prepared several ways - baked, cupcake machine, and a prepared gourmet dish (lobster).
- I placed some fresh dishes into the freezer and onto counters marked for sale.
- I dragged several items from the freezers that had been previously prepared and had the message they could not be sold onto the counter, where they were marked for sale.
Then I opened the store.
I found the following:
- The employee was exceptionally useless during her shift (I thought I remembered her being good previously).
- There were three different fights in the store (which I have never had happen), and one was my Sim-self/store owner, who I have never seen fight anyone.
- Customers purchased a variety of items, in about the same amounts I usually see.
- It did take about 6 hours of being open before I had my first sale directly from the Lice Cold Freezers. I had a total of 4 sales from the freezers.
1. I sold 2 plates of cupcakes that had been previously prepared and had the "This item cannot be sold or deleted" message on them directly from the freezer.
2. I sold one prepared dinner (lobster) that was made on-site and added to the freezer that day and had the "This item cannot be sold or deleted" message on it directly from the freezer.
3. I sold a BonsaiBud from my Sim's garden (previously harvested and added to the freezer) directly from the freezer. - The items that My sims had previously made (prepared food) and was dragged from the freezer to the counter and marked for sale was purchased as expected via Sims processing the order.
- The food my sim had made that day on-site and added to the counters and marked for sale was purchased as expected via Sims processing the order.
If your freezers are not working, did you wait 6 or more hours after opening the store? Also, do you have, or have you had in the past, Mods &/or CC? If so, we could test to see if those are causing any of the issue.
