How to place a half tile??

Are there half tiles in this game?? i made a octaginal room and the tiles on the edge are sticking out of the room to the outside. same goes for my other rooms. just becasue I "free-handed" a room it says thats its not considered a room.. like what the hell? a room is a room. an enclosed area thats a part of my house is not considered  a room i guess. I just want to know how to put half tiles. Sims have really downgraded their building system. And pretty much this whole game seems halfed **bleep** and a definate step down.

In Sims3 you can make half a tile by using "ctrl F". Did you try this in SIms4?

Im sorry you are having this issue!

There is a way to place the tile. All you need to do is zoom in enough and click on the tile you want while holding shift you click.

Ctrl+F only gives quarter tiles in Sims 4, and in a triangle formation; if you were to place two quarter tiles to get a half tile, it would be diagonal. Anyone know how to get a horizontal/vertical half tiles? Thanks!
