I am not sure if simmers know this, but child sims can write a dollhouse story on the computer after playing with the dollhouse.

I think that is sweet Standard smile

I didn't know this! That is so sweet. I will definitely have to do this next time I'm playing a family with kids 🙂

Oh hey, great description on those references, @atreya33 !

It also seems like 4 of the movies are sequels to the movies your sims can watch in Movie Night stuff (Simder 2: Master Suite, SuperKids: Agent Diaper, Moonlight Massacre IV: Cursed Bite, and Live and Let Diamond).

Ah, what a great way to get into the part I've promised: movies.

It turns out that besides declaring favorite, traits do indeed affect how sims enjoy the movie. In addition, negative emotions will make sims enjoy the movie less.

Here's the list of how traits affect movie enjoyment (again, with + meaning likes and - meaning dislikes):

Spoiler
  • Action
    • Active +
    • Geek +
    • Bro +
    • Lazy +
    • Self-Assured +
  • Comedy
    • Cheerful +
    • Goofball +
    • Clumsy + (Potion of Luck failure outcome included!)
    • Gloomy -
  • Family
    • Childish +
    • Family-Oriented +
    • Good +
    • Evil - (Begonia Scented flower gift included!)
    • Hates Children -
  • Horror
    • Evil + (Begonia Scented flower gift included!)
    • Gloomy +
    • Erratic +
    • Loner +
    • Foodie -
  • Romance
    • Art Lover +
    • Music Lover +
    • Romantic +
    • Jealous +
    • Loner -
    • Non-Committal -

So yeah, in conclusion, traits do affect movie enjoyment. Noone dislikes action movies at home!

I don't know if I'll take a look at TV channel outcomes, but we'll see.

It is great that traits can affect how sims enjoy or dislike movies @EgonVM

It can help us when knowing whether to have our sims watch them or to avoid watching it if another sim is watching it.

I've only just discovered the "kiss in water" interaction...

@PipMenace Hey, better late than never! If you haven't discovered it yet, there's also a Kiss in the Rain interaction. That one's my favorite.

Fun fact: The only way to age young adult+ vampires up is by gifting them a flower arrangement scented with Death Flower. Giving it to an elder vampire won't kill them.

Also fun fact, Death Flower scented flower arrangements also age up Servos and turn them into a human sim. I've made a bug report about it too just in case.

I did not know that giving a flower arrangement scented with death flower would age vampires up as well @EgonVM

In case other simmers were not aware of other effects of flower arrangements scents, this is a link to a guide that explains the flower arranging skill and the effects of the scents.

So, another fun fact for the day.

Grim Reaper has a special secret your sim can learn through the snooping system.

Spoiler

Being Grim
Soul reaping is not for the faint of heart. When you’ve been around as long as I have, you’ve witnessed a series of fateful events. But even as death, I have lived a full life. I have loved. I have lost. There are times where I have pitied and obliged. And times where I have been downright medieval.

I even owned a cowboy hat once, although I’m not sure where I put it. Unfortunate for you, death’s secret is not one I can share. Mere mortals learning of such things before their time would be a grave mistake. One that would haunt you ’till the end of days! But I will leave you with this – rest up before you rest in peace, the afterlife can be quite lively.

It has plenty of references to Grim Reaper in previous games:

Spoiler
  • The Sims 2's Olivia Specter's storyline (her woohooing with Grim Reaper and having Nervous Subject).
  • How at the old times when your sim pleaded, they either had to play rock-paper-scissors (The Sims 1) or which hand (The Sims 2). In addition, beating Grim Reaper in chess gets recently deceased sim resurrected. Plus The Sims 2 for Console allowed ghosts to challenge Grim Reaper to fiddle competition to get their life back.
  • Grim Reaper can reject a plea in The Sims 1 and 4.
  • Grim Reaper has a different appearance in The Sims Medieval. Here's a picture of him.
  • Grim Reaper has a different appearance in The Sims 2 for DS. He's called Grim Cowboy there. Here's a picture of him. And here's even a concept art of him!
  • Grim Reaper's secret is as cryptic as the answers he gives when he is asked for his career or if he's single.
  • Finally, the last part references that sims become ghosts after death.

I am actually resharing this thing from The Sims Forums (where I go more in depth in some entries), but it's still a fun detail.

@EgonVM It seems you've got loads of good fun facts for us! Ty for sharing all these details!

The paper rock scissors is something I remember my bestie telling me about back in the day, when she made a sim of me and won paper rock scissors against Grim so Sim-Me got to stick around as a zombie 😆 Good times.
