I ran into the same problem. For me it was custom preferences that I added to the game. Wonderful Whims was not to blame (At least for me).

Hi, I have had the same problem (still do but I managed to work around it), I realise you probably already solved this but this is for anyone who has the same issue. First open the cheat bar (ctrl+shift+c), and type in "testingcheats true", after that type "cas.fulleditmode on". Once you have done that hover onto your client, press shift and a few options will pop up, click "modify in cas", then it will take you to CAS of your client, that way you can check their likes and dislikes and note them down. Once you have done that you're ready to play!
