Sims ID cheat not working

I save my game constantly. Every time I close the game and whenever I make a new creation or have played for a while. SO I am constantly saving. So, I am not sure what you mean by a new save game. Whenever I save, it makes no difference.  I still check it every once in a while now to see if an update of something corrects it.

Hi @calmhere. A new "save" means starting from "New" in Main Menu instead of loading a save file you were previously playing.

Thanks for that. But if I do that, don't I lose all of the sims I have already created?

@calmhere This is just for testing if it occurs just on that one save or on all of them. Don't delete yours. Just make a new one, then test and check if it also happesn.

Thanks. I tried a new sim and his dog in a new game but it still tells me sim not found.

Update to my dilemma with the sim id thing. I went through and changed all of my sims last and first names and made them each different. I don't know if that was part of the problem, but now it is working for me again except I found that I need a space between the first and last name which I could have sworn I didn't need before but now I do. Anyway, it is working for me again. Thank to everyone who tried to help with the problem!

Hi Sims team, 

Trying to open top left dropdown box for cheats. This was working prior to the latest update and now it is not. Control - shift C now is not registering. I use a laptop

Info - I DO NOT use mods/cc

ALL other commands work! (p,m,control shift u etc) 

I have tried the following already

control shift window icon c

control shift alt c

repair game / factory reset game / close all background apps / with sticky keys without sticky keys / shut down laptop 

changing keyboard to English / deleted cache / used different households and travelled to other locations

I really feel like I have tried everything. Short or reinstalling the entire game. 

Please can someone advise on something I may not have thought of.

Hi @lynzpeel Last time I had something similar happen, the command had been taken over by some other software that was running. You might want to post in Technical Issues for support with figuring out how to identify where it is, but often just using Task Manager to shut down other programs that don't need to be running will help.

For whomever may have the issue where the cheat bar can not come up.

If you have any AMD graphic software/drivers please find the hotkey section in the Adrenaline software and be aware that  the key combination CTRL-SHIFT-C is to toggle your camera on and off when recording a game.

I removed the key bind and the cheat bar came back up.
