Would the Sims 4 run on either?

★★★ Newbie

Hey I'm looking for a laptop for school and possibly playing the Sims 4. I've been looking at these two. Do any of y'all know if they would be adequate for me? If not do you guys know any cheap options that would?

I've looked at the spec requirements for the game but it doesn't make too much sense to me. I don't know too much about computers so any input would be of help. Thanks!

Re: Would the Sims 4 run on either?

@5soslhemmo  The laptops have the same processor and integrated graphics chip, plus 8 GB RAM, so performance in-game would be very close, if not equivalent, between the two.  But I'd avoid the Lenovo because of its very small hard drive.  128 GB isn't a lot when you set aside space for Sims 4, other apps you might install, any photos or music, and of course Windows itself.  Plus, you'd need to "upgrade" the S mode version of Windows 10 to the Home version in order to install any apps not from the Microsoft Store.  This is simple, and free, but it's an extra step.  So the Dell would be the better option between them.

However, you can do better on the processor and graphics chip than these two.  True gaming laptops start at or a bit under $700, depending on sales, or you can find open-box or used models for even cheaper.  But maybe you want something more lightweight?  This Dell has a faster graphics chip than the others, and the graphics chip will be the limiting factor for Sims 4:

This one has the newer and faster version of the above processor and graphics chip and is even cheaper, plus it has a much larger hard drive:

These are a couple examples, and of course there are other options.  If you'd like to see some, just let me know what details you're looking for and how much you'd be willing to spend.
