Missing edition of The Sims 4

I recently was forced to move from the origin app to the new ea app and while I don't mind the change I stumbled upon an issue. I had two edditions of The Sims 4 base game, one in my native language and one in English. After trying to download the game I don't have the option to download it in English and can only download the game in Polish, Russian or Czech. I don't understand why there isn't option to download it in English, especially since the Sims 4 base game is free to download nowadays and I used my money to buy it in English several years ago.

I know that a discussion already exists on this subject, but an EA advisor suggested that I create a new one to see if anyone is having the same problems as me.

I currently live in the United Kingdom, and since the migration from Origin to the EA App, I am unable to play in French. I do install the game in French. However, when I first launch it, I get an error message telling me that the game is not installed and suggesting I repair it. After repair, when I launch the game again, it is English.

After months trying the different solutions offered on AHQ forums (English and French), yesterday I spent the whole day talking with EA advisors in chat, I even reinstalled the EA App and Sims 4 (base game only to save time), and they couldn't find a solution. There was even an advisor who assured me that the reason I couldn't play in French was because the version of my game was in English only. I knew very well that this was false, as I have been playing The Sims 4 since its release in 2015 and I have always played in French, without problems (via Origin). Since my issue with the EA App on Mac, I even installed The Sims 4 on the EA App on PC to test, and the game works well in French.

So I went to check my purchase history on my EA account. I can find my original purchase of the base game in February 2015 entitled "Les Sims 4" (billed in euros since it was made on the French store when I was still living in France). But I also have two new purchases (free, which I'm sure I didn't make myself) of the Sims 4 game from 01/17/2024 (perhaps the day of migration to the EA App? ) and from 06/29/2024 (today). And of course these purchases are entitled "The Sims 4", and are invoiced in pounds (as if they had been purchased on the United Kingdom store).

The EA advisor told me he would escalate my problem to the next level because he didn't have a solution to offer me, but it would be good to know if I'm the only one dealing with this kind of "symptoms" or not...

Hey! did you manage solve your language issue in sims 4? if yes, how? their live chat is bot and he is not helpful

After several intensive hours of struggle, I found how to fix the problem. But I had to combine ALL the solutions offered on the FR and EN forums for it to work. <sour laughter>

1) Request a “worldwide” version from customer service (better to ask directly to not get them lost in explanations)
2) Uninstall the EA App
3) Reinstall Origin
4) Reinstall the EA App via Origin's migration system
5) Reinstall the Sims 4

‼️ Warning: reinstalling the EA App directly from the version available online on the EA website does not work to resolve the language problem, I absolutely had to go through the Origin migration system!!!!

There you go, I have a lot more white hair than before, but... my game now runs in French. Hip, hip, hip, hurray!!! But for EA, always so much 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 because it's only thanks to other players and the forum that I was able to find a very "fiddly" solution!

But this is a real bug in the EA App that EA should fix themselves. It's really disgusting that EA cares so little about players on platforms other than PC, and in languages ​​other than English ("minorities")...  If they don't care, then they should develop their games at exclusively for PC and in English, and not make other players spend all that money for faulty and incomplete games (we are still waiting for the customisable pronouns in other languages than French EA/Maxis!)

Hi! I've installed an EA App a few weeks ago and I cannot find help anywhere

Honestly, I'm disappointed. I used to play Sims 4 in English and after switching from Origin to EA App, the Sims 4 changed its language to Czech. I've been looking on the internet about how to change the language back to English and all I could find was that I have to reinstall the game. So, I did as it was said and now as I want to install the Sims 4 again, I only see three languages to choose from - Polish, Czech and Russian. No English anymore.

What can I do in this situation? With Origin, the language was not a problem and I used to play in English just fine. I heard something about the problem being connected to a geographical location but for me, it's totally weird and disappointing that my choices are limited based on location only. Is there anything I can do to play in English again? Or can I switch to Origin back again as it was better?
