Hey @GraceIsClever I'm assuming this is related to The Sims 4 so have moved your thread there.

If it is for a different game then let us know and we can move it wherever it needs to go.

Today I read on twitter that our SimGurus, Game developers use CC and mods in The Sims 4. It's dissapointing because even the developers can feel the power on CC but console players can not. We only have some BB items, CAS pieces and that is all...

Is it really that hard to create a cc pack as Farming Simpulator or Cities Skylines has?

I have read through the stated reasons why CC and Mods will most likely not be available to the console community and I just don't buy it. It CAN be done. Other games do it. They just don't want to put that much work into it.

I really think this is plain unfair to people who pay the SAME amount of $$ for the game and new content. And since EA and The Sims depend so heavily on the modding community to fix the things they don't want to fix...it should be available to everybody!

I mean, I'd love to have access to the eyelash mod for asthetics but I really NEED to have access to the mod that FIXES Eco Living glare! I paid for that pack and have had to disable and unintall it (after trying all suggested "fixes" and absolutely ZERO response from The Sims people) because it makes the game absolutely unplayable!

C'mon guys! You have to put the work in somewhere! Either fix your game or work to make CC and Mods work on consoles!

I totally agree with you. What is more, I totally don't understand why the conversion of existing items or mechanics is so troublesome for EA. A lot of CC/Mods creators are open to give their content for free. Unfortunately as I see, EA prefers to waist the potential of some people and let the amazing CC creators do other things. For example HeyHarrie does premade builds for TS4 and Luumia does marketing materials for the game.

Sims 4 on console = no mods

★★★ Newbie

I’ve seen YouTube videos with new exciting mods and fun ones to try and I can’t help but being mad that console users have to stick to the same old gameplay and only be able to get new options when we pay for pricey expansion packs, game packs, kits and how come some games that EA has made can handle mods but others can’t especially a game like sims 4 that is used on different platforms and it seems really unfair to use console users that we are limited to what we can and can’t do if EA can allow PC and Mac to have mods so should consoles and it feed like this issue is overlooked as playing on console should not require having limited access to what we can and can not do.

Can someone finally confirm if the new CC/mods platform will be available for consoles?

@Sthenastia I'm sure that if EA wanted they could implement some sort of system that would allow mods. I mean if Bethesda can do it then anyone can. For example just toss it into the Gallery. Add a new section where players can upload and download content, approved content of course because we all know EA wouldn't just allow anything. Unfortunately PlayStation users would have even more limitations since Sony doesn't allow external assets for console mods, but they would still have access to some decent things.

Then again, do we really want EA trying to implement mods into the console version? They can barely get things right as it is, so they would most likely just mess things up and break the game even more.
