I loose progress in Sims on Mac Sonoma (M3)

★★★ Novice

For the past 3 days, every time I leave the game and I click "save and exit", I loose the gaming process! While I am in the game, I have no problem saving and switching between the households, there are no errors, no warnings, no nothing. But once I close the game and open it again, it goes back to the same household, same moment of time, like I didn't play before. This problem has never happened to me. Here is what I have tried:

1. I removed mods one by one and then all mods. They are all up to date, no bugs.

2. I removed the Sims folder from Documents, deleted the cache, repaired the game twice.

3. My desktop and documents are not saved on iCloud, my game is downloaded on my computer.

I do have enough memory.

Follow these steps to launch a new clean game - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting...

Does it still happen with none of your current user data in the new Sims 4 folder in a new save?

@BluebellfloraI have tried doing that, but the problem still occurs. I have tried to put my older saves in and it seems to fix the issue, so I presume my saves are corrupted? Is there something I can do? However, even without any mods and my old saves I still get "last exception" in my game folder. Also I get this error a lot (please see the attached file).

@sashasimming

The 102 error is Mod related. It's not a Mac tech issue so you need to head over to the Mods forum - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mods-CC-Issues/bd-p/the-sims-4-game-issues-mods-en

Maybe Mods have corrupted your saves. Did you move just one save into the new Sims 4 folder and test it? Or did you start moving over multiple saves and other files?

@Bluebellflora Thank you! Although I installed "Better Exceptions" and it did not detect any malfunctions in my game. I moved all of my save files. Was that a mistake?

@sashasimming

Better Exceptions is a Mod. You shouldn't add anything into the newly created folder apart from your saves and even then you should be adding them one by one, testing by launching the game after adding each one Standard smile

@Bluebellflora If I share my last exception files, is it possible to detect what exactly causes the issue? Because it appears even when I have no mods.

@sashasimming

Sure. I'm moving your thread to the Game Issues forum, maybe someone there will have a better idea.
