upgrades between rounds on GAC

Hi everyone,
noticed something weird. I passed the chimaera at 7* yesterday so after the beginning of the gac.
While setting up my defense, the ship is still noticed 6* but i can set four back ups !
Is it normal ? would it be the same for the offense phase tonight ?

note that after i rebooted the game, i could set only three back up so i guess it is resolved by itself but weird though (maybe i should have set up in first place ! )
Wondering if that bug is not responsable for the endless loading hat some fellow experiment on GA (a friend can make his first fleet fight then can't make the second one, endless loading...)
