First of all, thank you for the very enlighting post you created and shared with the community.
I would like to address some of the points you made and differentiate the fact you said you play many Simulator car games.
You do know NFS is not a Simulator car game but is, in fact, an arcade steering set up.
Which simply means in Arcade the handling of the cars is made simplified for newbies to racing games.
This is why the steering is dispositional in Arcade racing games in general.
I myself also play Simulator games such as Racing Room and other higher end skilled racing games.
It's easy for me to fully understand your frustration from going from a simulator game where you have to adjust your wheel set up for literally every race.
then you come to an Arcade game like NFS Payback or other Arcade race game and the adjustments are predetermined by the game and not so much the player.
So I just wish you all the best in whatever game style you prefer to race in.
