if my family dies except my toddler what will happen?

i was wondering if all my family dies except my toddler what will happen? will he/she get adopted - will he/she be one of the options on the adopt a child function on the computer?

The game will be over unless you have a second family in this game. Then the game will switch to it and the toddler will disappear.. You can't play toddler as a family.
