custom rosters for expansion mode are reseting why ?

how do i carry over my custom rosters onto expansion mode ? ratings and potentials are butchered in '18 shattenkirk is not an 83, laine is not 86, cam fowler not 84. i understand they wanna make a difference between the elite, mid and low but some of it is just plain bad

Totally feel your pain. Spent a good week making over 70 custom players and adjusting many attributes for existing players. Total pissoff

Pretty sure that when starting a Franchise Mode through an Expansion Draft, the rosters are forced to the Pre-Expansion Draft rosters, which includes player placement, overall, potential, etc., to ensure an authentic Expansion Draft experience. Created Players, in addition, seem to be thrown into Free Agency. I'll have to test this out, but I'm pretty sure that's how it goes, and, to my knowledge, it can't be changed.

why would i play an expansion when the rosters are incorrect?
