You Assign Someone on Defense On A Receiver & They Won't Cover Them ?

I see that the Offense has a play that you can match that play .. or assign that Defensive player on that Offensive Player so that he can be Covered .. but as soon as the ball is Hiked .. the game acts like you didn't put anyone on the Receiver .. and this is why this game Sucks !!
