Weak!

Any ISP's in South Africa would partner up with EA to run BF1 servers locally

EA has SA gamers by the balls

Do you have figures of how many potential players in SA?

Hi All,

It seems the only way we are going to get a response is to spam them on their forum, see conversation below with EA support.

Get everyone you know to post a complaint and lets hope for the best.

info: Your approximate wait time is 23 minute.
info: Your approximate wait time is 13 minute.
info: Your approximate wait time is 1 minute.
info: You are now ready to chat with Anubhav .
Anubhav : Thanks for contacting EA Customer Experience, my name is Anubhav. How may I assist you today?
you: Hi
you: I hope you can so here is what I am trying to find out
Anubhav : Hi, there.
Anubhav : Please do not worry. I will do my best to help you out.
you: On battlefield 3, 4 Hardline etc we hade local dedicated servers based in South Africa but with Battlefield 1 we now have to play servers based in Europe which give us a average ping of 200 to 250, why is there no Local servers for Battlefield 1 that is also hosted her in South Africa? and to whom can we as a community speak at top management like South Africa's country manager to try and see what the reason would be for not allowing any of our local ISP'S to host Battlefield 1 server?
Anubhav : Hi, there.
Anubhav : Ah, I see! That would have been very disappointing!
Anubhav : Please do not worry. I will do my best to help you out.
you: lCurrently the game is so unplayable with the high latency that most people are looking at asking for their money back, I am just suppriced that EA will not allow hosting of local servers. And one of the main problems we are having here in South Africa is that no one can tell us if their will be servers at a later stage or not, currently it just seems like EA Games does not care about the South African Battlefield community or that is how it seems to look like
you: So the next step would be to get in touch with someone more senior and escalate it, so I truly hope you can assist.
Anubhav : I can understand that playing on European servers is giving you high ping time, which is causing the game unplayable.
Anubhav : Please don't worry, I am going to discuss the issue with my specialist team and provide a fix for that.
Anubhav : May I have your first name?
you: Okkerd
Anubhav : Nice to meet you, Okkerd. How are you doing today apart from this issue?
Anubhav : Okkerd, I apologize for the inconvenience, and I am working on your case, please allow me a couple minutes.
you: Well fine... just that I was looking so forward to playing BF1 so a bit sad on that issue
you: no problem
Anubhav : Thanks so much for your patience. That was very kind of you.
Anubhav : I am confirming the information with my specialist team.
you: thanks
Anubhav : I appreciate your patience.
Anubhav : Most welcome.
you: I hope they can help.
Anubhav : Yes, I am waiting for their reply now.
Anubhav : I have finished the discussion.
Anubhav : Sadly, Ea hasn't provided us the information on whether your region will get the dedicated servers and when.
Anubhav : I know that it might be disappointing and I apologize for that.
Anubhav : But, please don't worry and post this on forums and AHQ to make EA aware of this, so that they may work on this soon.
you: we have all ready posted it on the forum but no one is answering it , do you not have any senior person that can escalate this for us and feep us posted on the progress or even a contact/email address where we can contact South Africa's region manager
Anubhav : Okay. I have discussed that as well.
Anubhav : Actually, forums are answered but there is no fixed time for that.
Anubhav : Also, if the post is duplicate then it might be answered again.
Anubhav : Please make sure there are no duplicate posts, and also make sure the post is actively participated to get the attention.
Anubhav : I am sorry for the trouble again, and I hope it will be answered very soon.
Anubhav : Let me know If there is anything else I assist for you?
you: We will try that but I think this is a issue that is more for a senior Management, a local technician will not be able to make the decision to allow third parties to host the battlefield 1 servers here is South Africa unless they can inform everyone that they are busy setting up their own local EA servers here in South Africa.
you: So how can I get in contact with senior management to get more clarity on this issue, we are a very large community here in South Africa and I think we deserve a bit more attention and priority on this matter.
you: Sorry if I come across as being a bit stubborn but I just want answers on am I going to buy this game eventually or am I buying another game, at least we still have Call of Duty as another FPS.
Anubhav : Actually, these decisions are taken by developers whether the servers are provided to a specific reason and when.
Anubhav : So, this is why we are asking to post it on the forums as EA developers keep as eye over there, and if it being faced by a mass of players then they may resolve this.
you: Ok thanks will advise everyone.
Anubhav : Thanks for understanding the situation.
Anubhav : This can't be fixed by customer support, so please don't worry, I have also forwarded this as feedback to my supervisor.
Anubhav : Is there anything else I may assist you with?
you: nope that is it thanks
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to [edit: email address removed] at the end of your chat session.
Anubhav : All right. Thanks again! It was my pleasure assisting you. Goodbye and take care.
Anubhav : Thank you for contacting EA. Have a good day ahead. Feel free to contact us anytime in future.

We need to contact the community manager for Africa, I am trying to find EA reps in Africa but there seems to be no one answering for Africa. TWITTER is probably the best way to promote this problem as it is more public and if enough people speak on behalf of this problem maybe...maybe then it will be solved. I have contacted Braddock512 which is EA Community Manager for North America and is basically running the Battlefield Forum.

I have tried emailing addresses I find on Google, I have submitted multiple cases in EA Help, I have waited close to an hour for an EA adviser to start a chat with me.....all of this and not one single word. I feel that EA owes their clients who pay money for their products answers to these questions and so far it looks like I am not the only one not getting any. I agree with all the messages above-if no EA official servers will be in SA then at least allow third party hosting.

I don't expect EA to actually reply to this message but I want to at least add my voice to this cry for a service that we pay for and haven't received.

EA you need to respond to our questions because we are all keen on playing BF1 and really would like to continue supporting good games in future.

- So EA South Africa has no Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Electronic-Arts-EA-South-Africa/278940792406

The African support has been changed to the Asian Pacific Community instead:

https://www.facebook.com/EAGames

- The Twitter account for EA South Africa has not been updated since the 20th of September, NOT EVEN TO PROMOTE BATTLEFIELD1 (most recent post was for Fifa 2017).

https://twitter.com/EA_SouthAfrica

General Manager for EA South Africa is: Grant Oliver

Marketing manager for EA South Africa is: Ralph Spinks

It really seems like EA Africa is not active at all. Why Twitter EA South Africa is not posting anything regarding to Battlefield 1 is because they already know that the multiplayer experience for African Community will be at 200 Ping by default, hence that is not a respectable and a misleading marketing scheme for them to advertise to the public with the result of having customers regretting the purchase. If they are quite they can not be accountable for what they haven't said and what they haven't promised!

I am sick and tired of this.

EA, we cannot play with these high latencies! It is aggravating!

I will have to demand a refund if SA servers are not put in soon as there was no notice whatsoever that there will not be any multiplayer servers in our country!

Reading all the threads I feel stupid, should have looked before I bought the game. Playing with a ping of 200 is painful. Played the other battlefields now this, R900 down the drain. Tip from me, I also play over watch with blizzard and that seems ok. But yes, I suppose we in Africa, wait, I just need to stroke the Lion next to me before he bites me. But yes EA South Africa u would not care in any case u have our money. I told some1 to buy the game, he will this weekend, guess what I will tell him before week end Standard smile
