Washing a dish?

I've had this plate that I move from room to room because for some reason it won't get washed. I tried putting it in the bathroom and interacting with it and it just says there's no sink (the bathroom definitely has a sink). I can't buy a sink from the kitchen, I can't delete the plate. What do I do?!

You do need a kitchen sink for it I think. I had a plate as well, it stood there until I actually got a sink.
