Welcome to the Madden NFL 20 Top 100 players countdown. In today’s article Associate Designer Andre Weingarten and Dustin Smith will break down our top 100 players based on Overall rating. In cases where there are ties at an Overall number, the Madden Ratings Adjustor team discussed and ranked those players.
Armstead is one of the most athletic linemen in the NFL, and his 5th best Pass Block Finesse (91) is further proof. His unique blend of elite speed (fastest LT) and strength, allow him to win against any type of pass rusher, and do damage in space as a run blocker.
His 95 Zone Coverage is the third best in the NFL. Fuller showcases excellent football IQ to play through his receiver, and keep his eyes on the QB at all-times in zone. That, plus his very good speed lets him excel in any Zone defense.
The 2nd best RT in the NFL, he has the best Impact Blocking at 91. RT may be weaker than LT, but not because of guys like Lane Johnson. Equally as good run blocking as he is pass blocking, he is able to play in a variety of roles due to his great athleticism.
His 93 Awareness is the 6th best at CB. Slay remains one of the best playmakers in the NFL, as he posted his 5th straight season with 10+ passes defensed. His elite speed, instincts in Zone Coverage (5th best at 93) and ball skills make him one of the NFL’s most dangerous CBs.
His 86 Man Coverage is the best at Safety in the NFL. Very few players can shut down top TEs in coverage, but Adams did just that this past year. Elite coverage, and excellent run defense…the sky is the limit for the now third year Safety.
He has the 2nd best Power Move (93) at RE. With nearly 20 sacks before age 23, Garrett is already one of the league’s top pass rushers. His blend of size, speed and strength allow him to setup a variety of pass rush counters.
His 81 catching is the best at HB. McCaffrey is such a natural receiver, that he could play Slot WR full-time and put up 100 receptions in a year. His nuanced route running, great hands, and underrated ability as a between-the-tackles runner make him one of the most well rounded HBs in the league.
His 96 release is 3rd best among WRs. A master in the Red Zone, Adams rapid feet can create instantaneous separation from defenders. Paired with his strong hands, he is the true #1 in the Packers offense.
He has the 2nd best tackle (92) and block shed (93) at LE. At 6’8” Campbell is an intimidating presence on the Jags D-Line. Paired with his incredibly agility for his size, and top tier power, he can play anywhere on the line and terrorize the opposition.
His 97 Zone is the best at CB in the NFL. The savviest Corner in football, teams would much rather look the opposite direction than Target the former college WR. His elite instincts and ability to play with his back to the ball let him control his third of the field, week in and week out.
His 97 Juke is 2nd best for a WR. Diggs is not only a master route technician, but his incredible hands lets him snag passes outside his frame with ease. CBs have a long day ahead of them when they face the Vikings 1-2 punch at WR.
His 98 Ball Carrier Vision is 2nd best at HB. One of the last true work-horses in the NFL, Elliott is a 3-down back who is the carrying force for the Cowboys offense. With a powerful stiff arm and phenomenal leaping ability, his vision and burst through the hole make him one of the league’s elite.
He has the best Mid Accuracy (98) and Awareness (99) in the NFL. Brady remains the league’s most precise passer, and he doesn’t appear to be slowing down. He continues to show the ability to adapt and maximize his surroundings, and it once again resulted in a Super Bowl victory.
His 94 Deep Accuracy & 97 Throw Under Pressure lead all QBs. Mahomes 2018 season was unprecedented. His combination of excellent accuracy, and ability to find open receivers outside of structure led to consistent highlight-reel plays.
His 98 Catch in Traffic & Spec Catch are 2nd best among all WRs. AB’s combination of elite route running and concentration at the catch point make him one of the league’s most dangerous receiving threats.
