Sims 4 expansion packs

I brought the sims 4 cats and dogs and city living expansion packs the weekend. I had no problems installing them they went on fine.
Since playing the game with these expansion packs on my game has been running really slow, it keeps freezing and when I ask my sims to do something such as “walk the dog” the sim just stands there for ages not responding to the command.. which resulted in my sim leaving the dog in the park and going home to bed and the dog running away..
the sims no longer do what I press and stand there for ages and when I cancel the command they still continue to stand there not moving.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have any mods or CC (custom content)? Try taking that out.
