So if I understand it correctly, those ‘normal’ four portals in Trail of Gnomes, is NOT the ones were we can find those keys, but it must be found inside the monthly Mystery Portal events.

That's correct- the Red Chest inside Town Hall, the one which costs 50 Rainbow Stars to open, is the only location which has a chance to provide you with one of the color-coded Keys to one of the Trials of Gnomus. This limits you to possibly receiving one Trial Key during each of the three Mystery Portal events each month with 5 weeks being the minimum amount of time it will take you to collect all four Keys.
