NFS payback won’t let me progress in story

So  i’ve just completed the Braxton beat down mission however my game does not register it as completed and I don’t know how to correct this. I’ve tried quitting the game and reloading it, but that does not work. Every time I complete the mission I continue to get money and rep at the reduced rate as if I’ve completed it, but since it doesn’t register I can’t unlock more missions
