Are you both able to visit Settings>Manage Files from the in-game menu and delete the roster/profile saves you have, then load up Madden and download the roster?

Open up your Origin client and select Origin in the top left corner>Application Settings. For your save files, are they being sent to the same drive?
It could also be a program or anti-virus blocking the download. Try a clean boot and then immediately right-click on the Madden 20 desktop shortcut and run it as administrator.

We haven't heard from you in a bit, hopefully you've been on the field in Madden by now. This worked for two others, does it help you out?
