Locked map location and interacting with items

Will the other map location be available anytime soon? If so, would the Sims finally be able to interact with household and world items normally (such as sitting on a bench, ordering coffee, eating food at the restaurant, getting a checkup, admiring themselves in a mirror, washing hands, etc.).
