How to improve defenders form

I am new to Fifa and started playing career mode.

Even after a good number of clean sheets, the match ratings for my defenders are consistently in 6-6.5 range.

This is getting the form stuck at “good” or “ok” and affecting there development.

how do i improve the development for defenders?

Things are fine for mid fielders and Wingers.
