How do I upgrade a baby

I have a few questions so my sims had a baby It seems like I can’t find out how to make the baby an child and when your sims get married will you be able to control that sim? Thank you for you help

Just do the baby events when they pop up with the pink adult/child family event thing. Usually in the morning. Takes a day from baby to toddler and a couple days from toddler to child and a couple days from child to playable adult.

Never have had enough room in my home to invite another player’s sim so my spouses never move in and have no idea if they would be playable. Good question!

Further to @mamabearboys, you can control a sim’s spouse if you are able to move them into your household.
