General game ideas

★★★ Newbie

What do you guys think about adding a Navy to the game? Perhaps it could be a mode with just Navy and maybe airforce. Or a map with one part water and the other land so everything can be used.

I also wish they would add in some different game modes rather than just basically king of the hill. Similar to king of the hill; hard point from call of duty. Have a zone moving around the map that needs to be captured. There could also be one with a convoy that needs to be escorted perhaps carrying a payload.

Bigger and more varied maps would be a welcome addition. It would allow for new strategies and less boredom. They should add in team battles and large free for all's rather than just 1v1. Maybe add support for Chromecast and Android TV. This would be good for bigger maps.

I believe a single player campaign or vs bot mode would be a good way to test new troops. It would also help new people learn how to play. More lore could also be introduced with a campaign giving the game more depth. You should also let us save some replays in game.

Others have mentioned it, but having to depend on luck to obtain new troops is not the way to go. This is where a campaign would help to bring them in. I realize this encourages people to buy crates, but it creates an unfair game. Without access to some of these meta troops, it takes the fun out of it.

Overall it's a pretty solid and good game

Any thoughts and comments are appreciated

Unfortunately maps aren't big enough for water type maps, naval units would be extremely limited to the point where it wouldn't be worth it unless they were designed as bombardment units. Not to mention all current maps would have to be re-balanced to support water which isn't realistic at this point in the game.

Am not against other game modes, though I would like one where the goal is simply to destroy the enemy base, rather than to control points. Unsure on bigger maps, it is a mobile game, they can only make our screen so small and having to move the screen along the battlefield would probably be a hassle.

I'd be up for a unranked mode when it actually releases, with the limited players in the Alpha, they can't afford to separate the player base as queue times would easily become a issue. Though, having a mode where you can just test out units or interactions would be nice (Solve the Kill x amount of units with x unit).

Instead of a single player campaign, I would rather them have "Challenges", that offer rewards and can be seen (Add a medal on your account (Shows during loading screen)). Of course, these challenges would be difficult and each one having it's own unique test or twist to challenge the player to really think outside the box. By twists, I mean challenges can be designed outside the normal rules/restrictions of the game.

Not a fan of navy, but that's mostly because tiberium universe C&C doesn't have navy and the maps are far too small to add water, if this was a red alert game with larger size maps I'd be there right along with you though.

Which brings us to larger maps.. The current map size is great for 1v1, but I too would like larger maps for 2v2s (not 1v1 though), that said, they'd have to find a good solution for scrolling on a phone small phone screen without accidentally doing anything else first.

Oh also more maps unlock as you level up so look forward to more variety. That said, some other environments would be nice in the long term (haven't seen a truly red zone feeling map yet or anything more urban or in the snow for instance)

Vs bots is suggested a lot around here, would be nice, but in the meantime if you join an alliance you can have alliance battles that don't affect your medals at all if you want to practice plus other benefits so I highly recommend that at the moment.

Luck on obtaining troops bugs me too, I want them always purchasable (perhaps at a higher than store price) with either coins or gems personally (though only for initial unlock, not for getting spare copies to level), but really at the end of the day I'm coming around more to the idea of just balancing the game such that you get a solid set of units to start with that play reasonably well in a layout, having answers to most things off the bat while unlocking stuff just opens up tactical options for you down the road. The problem isn't really random unit unlocks so much as which units are locked behind that random factor.

Different game modes probably wouldn't work great on the current map size and I'm not sure I need them in a 1v1 setting but if 2v2 on larger maps ever happens I'm fairly open to the idea of new gamemodes there.

I understand the calls for a campaign, I grew up playing the command and conquer games starting with tibdawn and the story was always a huge draw, but after playing this game since the announcement I don't want one. A mobile campaign isn't going to be great, there isn't a lot of space to work with here, remember your favorite missions from past command and conquer games, how many, if any, would transfer here even slightly? Not to mention how much work making a campaign is, they're a little late in development to do that now, and honestly at the end of the day this is a mobile game on a much smaller scale than your traditional C&C, I can't imagine that any campaign we might get could match up to past campaigns that had much more to work with.

EDIT: I do like mav's challenge idea though.

+1 to being able to unlock the units you want rather than relying only on luck.
