Next showdown has modelling career as a grand prize

★★★★★ Apprentice

thought?

Had i known this, i wouldnt have participated in previous events and spent money. I feel like i was just being a guinea pig unwillingly... i spent 800 simcash to get the prizes and im pretty sure they will make this one harder since its a new career... pretty low

Still too early to know if indeed this will be harder or easier. Let's give it a day or two -_-

@SalixCat

Thanks for always  helping us players out.

It is much appreciated

Will there be another FEEDBACK thread associated with this newest event?

I am beyond aggravated and PO’d about the way these new challenges are now being tied to New Careers.  Even after watching U-tube tutorials & reading tips from other players, I feel like this game is like a bad Maths class gone awry.

I just want to play a fun game & not have to worry about percentages & odds. Are the devs still looking at feedback.

If I really want to “Gamble” I can head to my nearest Casino & get free comp drinks too 🙄

For or those of us not willing to risk all of our resources for challenges like this, will there be any alternatives to gaining career stories, hairstyles, jewelry?

Really, REALLY frustrated with TSM  & the future of the game for me.

Yeah im taking back my words. Its easier than previous ones and has better looking items. Events are shorter but longer downtime, at least i can make more money during the downtime. I finished all three challenges with just sugar cubes but 9-10 round challenges havent appeared yet... redeemed 3 sweet boxes and 2 royal boxes. Got some of the prizes i wanted (men’s pants, open wardrobe, wall hangers, and windows). During the challenges, i think the option to increase percentage with coins is present at all times but im not sure if it will change depending on the difficulty. At least patty is nice enough to give me an easy 5 rounder in the first challenge.

So far so good. Providing i am lucky and get enough tokens to open the same amount of boxes as today, i could get the career for free. But I still doubt they let us have the career for free, even if its easier and you end up having to pay fewer simcash for the whole event, they still took items in moschino stuff pack and sold them separately for total price around 2-3 times higher than the pc version. *IF* I end up getting the career without simcash, I will probably get the moschino outfits though...

———-

anyway im not sure where to ask but are the circled outfits for men or women? It looks like for men but its position in the lineup makes me think it’s for women.

Re: Next showdown has modelling career as a grand prize

★★ Guide

A quick math for anyone who wants to get the grand prize. Assuming you play every day.

Regular prize box

There are 45 boxes, 500 tokens each, event duration 15 days

45x500 = 22.500 = 1.500

    15             15

1.500 tokens need to collected every day.

Royal prize box

24 boxes, 9 tokens each

24x9 = 216 = 14,4

  15        15

At least you need to collect 14 royal tokens each day.

Well, so far so good. Reached the quota for the day, currently have 2,292 sweet treat tokens & already used 18 royal tokens gained from the bake-offs. Won 3 out of 5. A 7-part challenge is the most I played for today in which I won 2 out of 3.

Re: [Feedback] Sweet Treat Showdown - Catwalk Fabulous

★ Guide

I have no problem with the sweet treat showdown in general, as a regular feature which we are expected to do all events from is where I'm not happy. Can't the treats be swapped out at least and be replaced with something else visually like crafts or clothing? We need variety of some sort, treats aren't something that fits with fashion and we've been doing treats for a while now and frankly its getting stale. so far I see the changes that were made to make this event easier for others and less of a grind and I'm happy for that, this game should be geared toward more casual players and not feel as if you need to dedicate lots of time into it unless you really wanted to. the last thing I want is a mini version of Freeplay which is way more expensive and time consuming than I am willing to participate in.

I was hoping for a return of the event style like ASOS, that was fun and visually pleasing. as far as getting careers through these events I'm happy to get them this way as long as there is a way for others who don't finish to have another chance at them unless they are meant to be exclusive to the event as the ASOS careers were. I tend to be a completionist  so I finished the ASOS event and got all of the items, it was enjoyable though and loved how it was cross promoted with a brand that was very accessible in real life. Moschino isn't really accessible like ASOS is so its more of a vanity brand and can understand why the items are being done in packs, but the prices are absurd being all items purchasable are over $70. Thats way too much for a casual game to charge, Jeremy Scott may be used to making big bucks but as a normal person I don't have money to afford such clothing in real life or in a virtual one. I would have easily spent $12 for the Moschino package and $2.99 for each of the weekly ones, maybe $5 if there was mens items in them.

Why not try a cross promotion with a brand influencer who's not selling couture at extravagant prices, Id take makeup packages from Jeffrey Starr as long as they were affordable.

I'm just feeling let down as I was expecting something more like the ASOS event, and if all the clothing came in at around $25 I think that would have been acceptable and more affordable to many more people. I will finish the event and see if I feel any different, but as it stands I'm really worried that the game is going to be a mini version of Freeplay when I'd rather it was more like sims social which was really awesome.

@Stevev363

Great Post!   ITA with you about the disappointment of not having the ASOS event repeated!   I also enjoyed that event.

And I also agree that I’d rather just outright pay for clothing, jewelry, hairstyles packs ( IF they were reasonably priced) without having to do an Event I detest... maybe because I hate cooking/baking IRL 🙄

Even if there were smaller affordable packs, I’d feel like the rewards would be more available to everyone.

I’m not opposed how people choose to spend their money, but I wish that there were better alternatives for players to get some of the desired items without going broke—both in and out of the game.

I feel left out as a Sims player, knowing that the new Modeling Career is only available by doing this event.

I miss the more Social aspects of the game, especially the parties.

We've been asking for more Relationships, Careers, & Hobbies even before FM took over.  We’ve also been asking for Party fixes for over a year now too.

Im afraid TSM is more about making $$$ now, than playing a fun, social & creative game.   😔

[ Edited ]

Speaking of the new career...has anyone else looked to see what the career chapter rewards are for this event? It looks to me like the three "at work" items are what's already available from another career and the "at home" items are a plain backdrop, a floor light, and a tripod. Am I the only one who doesn't want work-like stuff cluttering up my home?

Also, wouldn't some stylish clothing be more fitting for a modeling career? Like, even if it's something stupid/funny/weird like a dress made from cardboard boxes or a crazy hat that looks like an upside down umbrella (you know, weird stuff you see high end models walking down the runway in). Wouldn't it be cool if you got a dummy with a silly outfit on it for party interactions, and you also get the outfit in CAS so that your sim can actually wear it, too?

One last thing. Just how many careers do they think we can fit in the fashion studio in Market Square? I guess that's why all the at work items are stuff we've already gotten from the trending now career (which, btw, came with outfits).
