Dumb People Playing As Specialist

★★★★ Apprentice

If something is called a "Trip Mine" that kinda means someone is supposed to trip over it. Answer me this, why in the world do so, so many players as Specialists instead of putting them onto walkways, doorways, pathways, any place someone can walk through and trip over the wire or laser. Hence the name.....Trip Mine.

Here's the problem, why do so many players as Specialist use the "Trip Mine" wrong? They throw it on the ground and the beam goes straight up in the air letting everyone know there's a trip mine here. Of course, I've seen a few dumb people who would go up to the misplaced "Trip Mine" and shoot it and blow themselves up. Stupid is as stupid does.

Misplacing the "Trip Mine" happens a lot. I've seen it in GA, Blast, Strike.....it's like there should be instructions or a manual on the "Star Card" for it. This is how you use Trip Mine.

Hello @Rynigin

Indeed, there are so many tripmines being misplaced, but this isn't entirely the fault of a 'dumb' specialist. I've been playing specialist a lot and the tripmine seems to be a great tool to defend an area (especially in smaller game modes). But the game sometimes makes it hard to place them properly.

  • When you stand to close to the wall, the tripmine will bounce off and just fall on the ground
  • The tripmine will orient itself based on a very small pixel of the environment, making the orientations sometimes unexplainable.

This is what I mean with these points:

Don't be too harsh on the specialist, it can be considered an ART to place them correctly on the first try. (why can't I pick them up again as the officer can pick up a misplaced turrets?)

Speaking about stupidity and this is "a technical issue"

I have to agree those are technical issues and I do wish we could pick them up like the Officer can pick up his gun turret. But I've been on many boards where the trip mine is in the middle of nothing just pointing up. I'm thinking they put it there on purpose. But it's stupid because everybody can see it and avoid it. Lol. Except those who shoot it and kill themselves. One thing is you can keep placing trip mines over and over. Only 2 will stay on the field. The 3rd trip mine you place will replace your 1st one and so on. So you can remove it but it will take some time.
