Do people still play PVZ: Garden Warfare 2 in 2017?

I'm thinking of buying this game and I don't wanna waste $23 on a dead game.

My husband and I play on PC.  Turf Takeover can be busy during the weekends and Friday nights in the Western Region (US).  Whenever I play, I see at least 80 people in Multiplayer.

Im on PC in Europe and its never hard to get into a game. Sometimes its even full and I have to try again.
I see alot of new players.

does any still play in 2018? I bought the game last year, and could never find any game, ever, but I may have been on the Australian servers, what servers have the most players, and how do I join them?

Well turns out I was already on Europe servers, it said failed to find a match, so I tried America East, I joined a match, with literally no one. What server or gamemode should I use? I've never once played online in this game before, did I buy it when it was already dead, because I bought it early last year.

It sounds as if you’re on PC, as if you're on console (XBox or Playstation) the game is full up on the EC, WC and European servers in all game modes (It depends, of course, on the time of the day, although I get the impression that Turf Takeover is a round-the-clock game on the WC server). If you're on PC I am afraid I cannot help you there.
