This is utterly ridiculous! In a game like this you can't be refused to change a club name, it''s not your ID number. There should be an option, even if it had to be approved by an admin or sth, in case you are afraid of abusers (although I cannot really understand what would be the problem).

Hey there, does EA uses uservoice.com or other platform to obtain feedback directly from people buying the product?

I understand the moderator's and customer service specialist but I can't help but to think that some of these features are somehow ill-intended. I'm sure there is no evil strategic behind it but what I mean is that I don't really see a focus group telling EA "sure, delete my packs and all but keep the objectives. Oh, btw, please make it impossible to change my name after the first time."

Professionally speaking, these are either unethical UX tactics or grossly overlooked/ignored features.

I also got the most expensive version of this game and when deleted my club, lost everything except the objectives. Now I have a very expensive digital brick.

So, again, is there a way developers can get this petitions or information directly? If not, more than passing along this info to developers, I would love if you could pass it Upwards to your supervisor and hopefully top management. I think as people who spends money on this product, we are a critical stakeholder and deserve more than "sorry; it is what it is." (Nothing personal; I know you are doing what you are being told).

It is absolutely staggering to me that this is the official response from an “EA community manager”. Instead of sitting here telling us there’s nothing you can do and it’s unlikely to change you should be agreeing with us about how utterly * stupid it is. 

I’ve just deleted a club because I didn’t like the name, assuming, as any normal person would, that upon deleting the club it would allow me at the very least to pick a new team name when I create a new one. 

Only after dumping £30 into the new team have I now realised you can’t change the name. The objective is already ticked, despite it being a “new team”. Instead I’m now stuck with “Roma FC” which I never chose. 

And the response from an EA community manager is basically “too bad, it’s not changing”.

Nowhere did it suggest I could only change team name once PER PROFILE. It makes ZERO sense to even give people an option to delete a team and then not be able to choose a new name for that new team. 

You’d think in a game literally called “Ultimate Team”, you’d at the very least be able to pick its * name. And the response we get from someone who is supposed to be here to engage with the community is this?

Not only does it make no sense, it’s straight up unethical. You let us change team names as many times as you want in Volta don’t you? But you won’t let us change it in UT? Why? Because precious coins that’s why. Money. That’s all you * care about. Because there’s an off chance some sados out there might grind a few hundred coins over several hours. 

EA actually deserve their reputation. This is the scummiest most petty, money grubbing and needlessly fun draining * I’ve seen in a video game. 

At the very least you should make it crystal clear that you can’t change the team name, even after deleting the club. It makes no logical sense that deleting the club doesn’t even allow you to pick a new name, and that has zero to do with protecting against coin farming.

Like you say; its a reason you delete your team. To start fresh. 
Wtf is the point of deleting the team if you still have to keep all the things except the players and your money.

I wanted a new team, name and all and landed on A stupid name I would never in my wildest fantasy choose...

I enjoyed the game so much until this hit me in the face.. For real.. these kind of things just ruins the experience totally. Such a small thing like choosing your name when you start a new club should ofc be possible. It’s your team and you want to put YOUR touch on it.

I am done with FIFA for now and its so dissapointing this is the reason why..

I just got refrred to this thread by an EA Advisor. I have been playing Ultimate team Since 2012 apart from a break last year and my old club no longer exists. When I went into the game this year my old team name had gone and a new team "Salta FC" was created without me changing it. I raised this issue twice with support and they suggested it was a bug so I stupidly left the same team name in the game when I had the opportunity to change it as I wanted to demonstrate the problem as I expected like any reasonable company that they would get it fixed for me.

I've paid for early access with EA Play and the Ultimate Edition and they refused to change. I know it's only a name and established date but it's left me stunned and deflated by how poor EA treats their long time customers. I'm really mad about this.

Just in case it wasn't obvious from the previous message they obviously have compleltely ignored previous compliants about this problem from their customers as it is still an issue in FIFA 22. I'm just stunned by the complete lack of interest in helping out loyal customers.

Came here looking for answer to same question. This is stupid behind belief. I played FUT for first time last night, got through a few games, was stumped by the fact you only get 1 team rename. Decided now I understood the game, I would delete and restart from scratch with a team name I would be happy with for the rest of the year !

Firstly it’s ridiculous you can’t change the name of your new team.

then How can it make sense that EA delete all object rewards and coins , don’t let you carry over anything but then also do not reset the objectives. This was enough to have me decide on only day 2 that I would not be playing FUT again.
