Redwood has never made a pc C&C game. This is their first game. You are thinking of Westwood studio's.
As for your suggestion, you would probably be better off just going and playing those old C&C games then holding your breath for rivals to change. A full RTS game is not possible on a phone. Rivals does a good job of bottling the combat of an RTS and delivering a quick dose of it. And honestly, it is pretty good. Give it a chance and it might impress you, or simply go buy the old games again and re-live the good old days. Either way, good luck commander!
