BP Economy - Making your BP go further

[ Edited ]
★ Guide

As a new player it is often hard to figure out what to spend you BP on. When you purchase a lackluster reinforcement and just die before you get anything done, it feels bad.

Here is some information on my top picks to spend your BP on and get you higher on the leader board.

Heroes and Villains:

#1: Rey

Rey is the single most powerful and most sought after hero in the game for Galactic Assault. It all comes down to her insight ability.  Insight gives your whole team wall hacks as it outlines all enemies in the area of effect including those Rey does not have line of sight on. Knowing the position of literally everyone on the front line is a ridiculous advantage and what's more is that Rey gets assist score for every enemy that is killed that is revealed by insight. (you also get progress on your assault challenge for scan dart if you haven't completed it) A good Rey player is nearly guaranteed to be on the top of the leader board. Rey has a card that increases the area of effect of her insight by up to 50%. Another card that is solid for Rey grants her HP for each enemy she kills, keeping Rey healthy while she supports her team.

#2: Bossk

Unlike Rey, Bossk is more focused on killing everyone on his own rather than helping his team. But he's a one man army. Bossk has two effective area of denial damaging abilities that can completely plug any choke point making it nearly impossible to win an object should he decide to defend it. His primary weapon 1 shots troopers with fully charged shots and is scoped for precision. When equipped with the card that makes his poison grenade heal him, he no longer follows hero regen rules and will always regenerate back to 100% hp making him very difficult to eliminate.

#3: Boba Fett

Boba Fett is a lot more fair in galactic assault than he is in heroes vs villians, but he's still pretty darn strong. His rocket barrage can kill any enemy unit in the game with a single volley when equipped with a high tier version of intense barrage. This makes him incredibly good for taking out enemy heroes such as Rey. His jet pack allows him more mobility than any other unit in the game. He even can be equipped with a card that allows "on the hunt's" vision to be shared with allies giving him a mini insight.

#4 Leia Organa

Leia has a pretty strong set of tools for being a pest straight out of the box. Her shield is darn near impervious to damage, her explosive shots from her pistol are tough for troopers to deal with, she has a flash grenade to make her even more annoying and can zero tanky units very rapidly with her supercharged overload ability. For cards I recommend increasing the damage of her alternate fire to improve her area of denial ability. Increasing her health regeneration and allowing her to heal on kills. This setup makes her very survivable against non-heroes. Use Leia's range and your allies to avoid 1 on 1 situations with enemy heroes and she'll be very hard to deal with. Leia is the one hero who can bully lowly troopers while making an ally practically invincible so he can capture an objective. For that, she makes the list for best heroes in galactic assault.

#5 Yoda:

Yoda is definitely a solid pick for GA. His small hit box and high mobility makes him very slippery. His damage out put is plenty enough to take out basic infantry, reinforcement troops, and even the non-melee heroes. It's not advised for Yoda to take on the likes of Vader and Maul though. Yoda has a great support ability that will greatly improve the survivability of the troopers around him. Yoda has one of the best blocks in the game and his push gets more powerful as he blocks blaster fire. It's not advised to remain in one place for long as smart troopers will flank Yoda or use explosive shots against him, but his speed allows him to show up rapidly snag a couple flank kills, get off a good push and then disengage to support his allies again.

Vehicles:

Literally every pilot-able vehicle in galactic assault is over powered. Every land vehicle can be used to instantly kill any infantry unit including heroes by ramming them and by ramming them, you really only need to gently touch them with the very end tip of your craft. This makes even the speeder bike a huge threat to even the most powerful hero or most skilled trooper.

Speeders: Every speed in the game is great because of their ability to run people over. Often speeders have very weak weapons... it doesn't matter... run people over with them for massive amounts of points and hate mail. Look for heroes and squash them.

AT-RT (clone light walker): Medium vehicles server their role pretty well. Lighter than the heavy vehicles they don't typically win 1 on 1's against the heavy vehicles but they have improved mobility making them better than heavy vehicles for squishing people. Unlike the heavy vehicles the pilot can be sniped, so be mindful of that. But if a whole squad comes around a corner, give them a good squish. The weapons on this vehicle are decent, definitely capable of killing light units and even a distracted or damaged heavy vehicle.

AAT and AT-ST: Both of these are strong purchases for the points. Unlike the lighter vehicles that are better for their ability to squish people, these ones actually have solid weaponry that can decimate infantry. Force users can't damage vehicles well, if one tries to stop you, squish him.

LAAT: This is a very cheap vehicle that can earn you a large chunk of BP. Look to damage the MTT while piloting one. If a tank is distracted these can zero out an AAT quickly. But be warned that usually the LAAT pilot does die, generally to a tank, sniper, or a heavy with explosive sentry. If you get one good hit on a MTT or a couple kills, it's worth it.

Fighters, Interceptors, Bombers, Snow-speeders: Any space craft is insanely strong and if you are a good pilot. You can make strafing runs over the objective and unless there is a very seasoned specialist there isn't anything that infantry can do to stop an aircraft effectively. Space craft are also great at taking out AATs and LAATs. Space craft can do everything that any other unit can do but do it better basically- assuming that you have the skill to pilot it to do so.

Infantry:

Enforcer- Wookie Warrior: Literally the only non-hero infantry reinforcement unit I recommend is the wookie warrior. The wookie warrior is a beast who can hold his own even against heroes. His explosive bolt caster bolts are capable of lethal damage with indirect fire so pre-firing choke areas while overload is active is very effective. Wookie warrior's overload ability is currently bugged and if canceled early it can immediately be reactivated allowing for nearly 100% uptime if desired. The wookie warrior's thermal imploder is insanely strong as well. It's made even more insane when you equip your enforcer with the explosives expert card which can increase the explosive radius of the imploder by as much as +80%. I also recommend increasing your enforcer's health.

Things to avoid (IMO):

Aerials: Aerials honestly just aren't worth the BP. You may say "They only cost 1500 BP" but in actuality they cost a lot more. While paying an aerial you earn almost zero BP. So the opportunity cost of playing one is not only the 1500 BP, but all the BP you would of earned if you instead played something else. Their weaponry is honestly not that strong, in many cases their damage output is less than what a heavy or assault can put out. Their small hp advantage is easily offset by the fact that other players will hunt you specifically because you are a paid BP unit. At close range both the heavy and assault have an advantage over the aerial in most scenarios.

All enforcers besides the wookie warrior: The other enforcers just aren't worth the price tag. Their weapons are weak, their explosives are sub-par,  they have a nice health pool but the amount of damage a heavy's TL-50 or sentry or assault's CR-2 or vanguard can put out will zero that health pool extremely rapidly. They suffer the same rediculous BP income penalty that Aerials face as well. They're best avoided, sadly, as much fun as the flame trooper seems like it should be.

The AT-AT: the AT-AT is very gimpy this time around. This is the one vehicle purchase I don't recommend. The orbital strike is really the only thing it has going for it but for the points you can do better.

Hey @Peligrad Nice tips and trix post.

Very easy to read and easy to understand what the points you are trying to make!

Keep it up!

Adding Yoda to the list:

Use Yoda when you want to defend a point and  are really in a need of support on the battlefield. With the best healing(and can be improved star cards) in the game you can really hold a point.

Yoda don't have the best damaged of the hero but he makes it thanks of being so small and is hard to shoot and is really agile on the battlefield. Use the adsorbed/knock back ability if you need to protect or go attack in small cluster.

Use Dash attack if you need the extra gap closer to attack someone. But its an amazing ability to use to escape with from everything.
