An email from EA

★★★★★ Novice

I had a marketing email from EA the other day promoting BF 2. Which is fine. But I'm not sure using a quote from an "okay" IGN review to make it sound as if they loved it was a wise choice. (See Images)

But what do I know? Nothing.

I just thought it was funny how EA will try anything to get people to buy the game.

Of course, they choose a positive quote, that is nothing strange or wrong in any way Standard smile

The quote is directly from this article, which is quite a positive one, not from the IGN game review.  This article is almost a month older, from before the release, and the ad is probably also the same since the release. If the game had gotten lots of great reviews, they would probably have made a new ad with ratings on the ad to, like IGN 8/10!

All companies do this, no one would choose a negative quote on their ad

★★★★ Guide
I took it as he was saying he'd expect a review of someone saying it's "great" or "the best gaming experience of the year" vs "okay".

Yeah, but the actual article that the quote is from is at least "good" as opposed to okay Standard smile
