I would go to the trainer and at the top click on the drop down menu and choose the option to show all schematics. Not just the ones that are trainable. It will give you the levels each one is earned at. I know that in either 4.0 or 5.0 they revamped a lot of the schematics levels. Artifice is still used for crystals but they aren't earned as often as the levels are more spread out.
