Depth Chart Issues

I drafted Darius Slay who is a 94 overall xfactor, he is #1 on my depth chart but he hasn't played a single snap for me on defense in my first two games of my franchise. No matter how i switch the Depth chart I can't get him in the game. Anybody else know how to fix this or if it even is fixable? Im in this franchise with 5 friends so its hard to just throw it away. If anyone can help that would be great!
