The following are suggestions for Strider gameplay. Striders would be available to use in Freeplay, non-linear Strongholds, contract missions, and Cataclysms.
After satisfying a prerequisite, players gain access to their first Strider and be able to increase their Pilot Level up to 60 while unlocking new Striders and perks in the process. There are 4 different Striders to unlock. The Javelin-to-Strider Synchronisation Level is the leveling system of the Striders. With 4 different Javelins and Striders, there are 16 different Synchronisation types, each with 100 levels; each level increases the Synchronisation by 1%. The Synchronisation type is determined by both the specific Javelin and Strider being used. Higher Synchronisation levels unlock new abilities and perks.
Players can instruct their Strider to move to specific locations, auto-roam, or follow them via the map. Other Striders actions include attacking enemies, protecting allies, and repairing Javelins & Striders. Striders can even perform ultimate attacks. Players can fast travel to their own and other players' Striders. They can be used to refresh armour and shields, reload, charge abilities & ultimates, access turrets, and place items in loading bays. Striders can also be used to access Forge and accept contracts during Freeplay.
New Loot and Customisation:
Striders would have their own unique loot including weapons, upgrades, and components. Players would able to customise their Strider's load-outs, external appearance, and the internal lobby.
Striders have a fuel system where they need to stop and recharge after travelling long distances. Fuel consumption is affected by the Strider type, loading bay size, energy converters, Synchronisation level, use of cloaking devices, and Cataclysm resistance in Cataclysms.
New World Events:
World Events are triggered when players' Striders are under major attacks, downed, or fully hacked.
New Enemies and Missions:
Enemy factions would have their own Striders too. Each one is as difficult as a stronghold end-boss. They can be defeated by taking them on head-on, disabling them via weak-points, hacking them, or planting explosives inside the loading bay and weak points. New Strider mission types include escorts, extraction, and commandeering enemy Striders.
Recommendations for Strider Implementation:
Before implementing Striders, custom waypoints and making current maps accessible for the Striders would be necessary. It would be ideal that new and stronger enemy types were implemented including bosses, factions, and giant enemy types, along with a GM4 difficulty and above.
Can't picture it?
