I think I finally figured this out - You'll see for each page that there's a spinning circle on the left and a blue line that extends from the left to right as the page loads (these are web pages). Wait until each page is FULLY loaded (no circle, no blue line) before pressing A or entering information. I was able to get it work by doing that.

This is still a problem for me. I've docked the switch as suggested to try and link the accounts but its still not working.
Any idea when the issue will be resolved?

I have the same problem setting up my daughter's account today? did you get any other helpful replies. she was so excited and now can't play.

Yeah - I think it should work for everyone. You just have to be very patient with each screen before hitting any buttons. Maybe even a minute or two to get each page to load.

I had this problem too whilst trying to link my EA account with the Switch - docking the console to my TV/Monitor and going through the process there worked for me. When the field comes up asking for an email address mine was automatically filled in - I deleted that and re-typed it - that seemed to help too.
