I also had this issue and tried everything i read but still didn't help. i contacted xbox support and they helped! Do the following 2 activities:

Xbox Home>Settings>Disc & Blu-ray>Persistent storage>Clear persistent storage

Xbox Home>Settings>Network>Advanced settings>Alternate MAC address>Clear>Restart

Thanks for the tips but I found my own method if you have fifa 15 insert disk go on ultimate team find an aponent leave if its searching  for a game switch back to 16 and try and it should configure your online profile to fifa 16

I just had the same issue.  Xbox live gold was expired.  I renewed my subscription and also set the privacy settings to adult.  This did not take until I went into system and restarted the xbox one.

I had the same problem and all you do is turn off your account verification then turn it on again and then it will prompt you to log in again when you access fut then you enter your details again and then you can play online again
