Fifa 12 requires origin?

I'm collecting games on DVDs without any platform. I've recently bought Fifa 11 which is installed with the DVD and the cd-key is asked at the DVD installation. I want to know if Fifa 2012 it's platform free and can be installed and played without Origin, because it has a paper in the DVD case with a cd-key but I don't know if its the same as Fifa 11 or the cd-key is for Origin.

@adriansmice Hi, FIFA 12 would be from mid-late 2011, so at that stage it should have Origin integration and won't have the old-style key authentication.

I can't find a definite confirmation of this, but I'm pretty confident that it's the case.
