origin update error

I also have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit..and I have the same exact issues discussed in this forum..thanks to you guys..I don't have to go through all this * yaw did ..but I what is the salution?..my origin want update ..and I try downloading the new origin and I still get the same origin I already have..I have spent a week on trying all this ..and nothing works..ea what is the fix?..I have payed you guys money ..to play games..and I cannot play ..I can't open origin I just get error message.

I'm having the same damn issue.  When origin starts, it immediately starts a 77mb update download.  Then it attempts to install said download.  Then i get "Your update could not be completed.  Please download and install the latest version of Origin from Https:\//download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/originsetup.exe."  Which i have done.  Same issue, uninstalled, same, manual uninstalled, same.  This is f-n ridiculous.

I've got Windows 8.1   64bits

yahel_1    suggested  this http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/.   I manually uninstalled Origin and  I followed the instructions for 8.1 (links to support from Microsoft)

I downloaded and installed Origin and it finally worked.

I hope it works for other people as well.

If the issue is on a mac, just a basic restart of the device works fine. no need to safe restart or anything.
