origin update error

★★★ Novice

So when I click on origin it automatically updates (just great -.-) and it gets half way through the update before giving me an error message saying:

Your update could not be completed.  Please download and install the latest version of origin from https:// download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe

when i click on the link it says:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

</Error>
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling origin but the exact same thing happens
So now i can't use any of the games I've bought and I am getting really fed up with this!
Please fix this ASAP!!!!

I think you can try a Clean Boot: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

Necessarily have to do these steps
manually uninstall Origin http://help.ea.com/en/article/manually-uninstalling-origin/
run CCleaner http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-use-ccleaner-to-fix-pc-issues/
install Origin https://www.origin.com/en-ie/download
-and do this...
First step... updating your Origin client...to the latest Beta version /top left Origin menu, Application Settings - General..
The second step... restart Origin and make sure you are the administrator, run the setup file Origin with Admin rights.
