help the sims 3 wont work

hi so i got the sims 3 on a disc and well it wont work for some reason. it says i need an activation code from an email and i dont have it. HELP!!!!!!

If you got the sims 3 disc it should have come with an activation code. If it is used, and you don't have it, that means it's already activated on someone elses account and you can't activate on your account.
