buying second hand

I have bought SIM4 deluxe party editon second-hand, I am wondering where I get a new code as the console does not the code it has already got. It is apresent for my stepson.

Sorry to say @MidgeLawrie but the only way to get a new code for the game is by purchasing a new copy of the game. When you purchase second hand there is no guarantee that the code will be valid and unused and if it is used then it is not possible to get a code in its place.

You can see under Trusted retailers which are the stores where you can buy EA games without having any troubles. The digital era means that the codes are linked to the account where they were redeemed, so second hand copies won't be working on another account. See if you can get your money back, as second hand copies won't work on a different account. 

Also, the game is often in sales, at retail and in the digital stores, so you can buy it from the official stores. The official stores have really nice sales during Black Friday and Winter Holidays, so buying a first hand copy will be actually cheap.
