Why do I need origin for Sims 4?

I want to buy sims 4 but on origin it says I have to pay for a subscription? I don't understand why, as all I want to do is download the game and play alone. I don't want to play in a online world.

@rosebud2105  You don't need a subscription to Access; just decline the offer and buy the game alone.  There's no multiplayer anyway, and the few online features (mainly the Gallery) are available to anyone who runs the standard edition of Sims 4 (not the Legacy Edition), regardless of whether they have Access.

@rosebud2105  Yes, as soon as you have a free account, you can buy the game and skip Access entirely.
