I signed up for the security code text messaging for signing into my account but am now getting them randomly, even when I'm nowhere near a computer and sometimes even in the middle of the night. Why is this happening?

@bananaman439@FordCrees Hi, such activity suggests that someone is attempting to take action against your account. Be sure to update your details and secure any other accounts that share login details with Origin.
You can find a bit more info here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/account/how-to-maintain-account-security/
Thanks for the posts and for being diligent with your account security.

Hey @mygreeneyes75,
The whole purpose of the Login Verification codes is to keep your account secure. You get a code everytime you try to access your account. If you are getting them randomly, there is a chance someone might be trying to login to your account and you are getting the codes required.
You can check your login verification settngs in Origin under Security settings. Also, the most secure and convenient way to keep it secure is to use App Authenticator. It is an application that will generate the required codes on your smartphone. So instead of getting a message or waiting for one, you will be able to login by simply opening the app and entering the code generated at that time in the app.
More information on this feature can be found here : http://help.ea.com/in/article/origin-login-verification-information/
I hope you follow this link and keep your account secure : http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-maintain-account-security/
Let me know if this helped.
Cheers

I understand the purpose of it which is why I signed up for it but I was getting so many random texts and have never had a problem with any kind of weird activity on my account, so it just seemed like maybe EA was the issue. It's no longer happening though so it's all good now. Thanks anyway.

I was sitting at home when I got a text message from Ea stating what my security code was, but it was in Russian followed by the numbers. I logged on to email and had no emails or anything about any suspicious activity. So I logged on to Origin and got the same exact number code as before but it was in English. Again, I first message I got was received when I was away from my computer not doing anything related to EA. So I know it wasn't me. I went in and changed my password. Was someone trying to hack my account?

@FayeQueen It certainly does sound like someone was trying to access your account.
It sounds like you've taken the right steps. You may also want to run a malware scan then change any other account passwords that match your EA one.
You may also want to consider adding 2-factor authentication: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/account/origin-login-verification-information/
Thanks for the post and for being attentive to your account status.

I have been trying to reach EA-support regarding this but no matter what 'game'-service is chosen I am redirected to a page asking me to "Call EA Help" and "Click Call Me" but with no such options available on the screen.
Top 10 game companies in revenue, does not care enough for customers to make a support page that works when something actually happens.
..But hey, at least I'm now considered a **Newbie by the support website as informed by the little popup!

@Troxarn Hi, you can choose Origin as your product, that'll give you to the appropriate contact options for account issues.
If the contact options aren't responding/appearing, please try swapping to a different browser, ideally one without any blockers or extensions. These can sometimes conflict with the help site and can prevent the connection from going through.

Hi again.
If you're outside the US you can click the flag icon in the top right of the page and choose your region-or one near to it- then you should get more region-appropriate contact options.
Checking on your apparent posting location you should be able to get through by phone, we have active agents now.
