When I try to answer my security question it gets flagged as Invalid. I just had it changed by Advisor, so I didn't forget. I've also asked friend of mine to check her account and she can't get past hers either. Does anybody else having the same problem? Could this issue be caused by use of special characters?

I've double-checked but have not received increased reports of the security answer not working. I would therefore recommend you to reach out to an Advisor again:

i just tried but since i have authenticator, i got the authenticator code and after entering it, i couldnt get to edit mine either, thanks for the report, im forwarding it to a CM now.
EDIT: please try clearing your browser cache and relogin to your account and try again if it works?
